About Hypergraphia
Jennifer Scott is a multidisciplinary artist and writer whose work bridges the monumental and the intimate. Known for vivid large-scale paintings inspired by myth and modern life, as well as intricate black-and-white pen sketches drawn from real street scenes, Scott captures the emotional undercurrents of everyday moments. Her illustrations explore the rhythms of city life, the personality of animals, and the cultural memory embedded in architecture and gesture. Whether working with color or in stark monochrome, each piece invites the viewer into a story, a feeling, or a spark of curiosity.
In addition to her visual practice, Scott is an accomplished author with a growing body of published and self-published works. Her books—Dogs of Fishtown, Cats of the Internet, and The A and E Stock Club, among others—combine illustration, social commentary, humor, and heartfelt storytelling. She has also written educational and creative nonfiction books rooted in her background as a learning coach, blending accessibility with intellectual richness. Across genres, her writing mirrors her art: sharply observed, culturally aware, and emotionally resonant.

At the heart of Scott’s work is a desire to inspire joy, connection, and recognition. Through her art and writing, she explores the emotional texture of community, the playfulness of animals, and the beauty found in resilience. Her work has been featured in Philly Voice, Philadelphia Magazine, MSN, and CEO Weekly. Whether you’re encountering a towering painting, a finely detailed drawing, or a line of text that catches you
